Following years of massal selection done the “old way” of propagating vineyards from the finest existing vines, we carefully selected and hand-picked cuttings from the most promising ancient Milar vines found around the ZORAH estate, many of which had been long neglected or abandoned. The cuttings were rooted in our nurseries for one year, then planted in carefully chosen estate plots characterized by low-vigour limestone and calcareous soils at an elevation of 1,400 meters (4,500 feet).

These conditions provide an ideal environment for the vines to thrive. Located in a phylloxera-free terroir, all vines are planted on their own roots, preserving their original identity. By embracing traditional propagation methods, we seek to safeguard Armenia’s viticultural heritage and preserve a living connection to its cultural past. This continuity between generations remains one of the defining principles of our work.
